IGNITE! Music Festival 2009 Day 1 was pure kick ass! The band line up was awesome and the crowd was way way crazier then we had expected.

Oh! And DJ Soo from 98.7FM was hosting IGNITE! too. It was good to meet her again :)

A big shout out to all the staff and crew of The Republic Cultural Centre for giving heregoesnoth!ng this great opportunity to be part of such an amazing event.

We hope that there will be IGNITE! again next year. Let's make it bigger and better if that happens!

Live ‘N’ Loaded was one of the best experiences ever!

It was a hell of a tiresome day last Tuesday during the recording day, coz we had to be at Mediacorp studio by 9am in the morning for soundcheck and rehearsal, and the journey from home to Caldecott is pretty distant and tedious, including the mrt and bus transfers, but of course, we had a great time at Mediacorp the whole day. The facade of the buildings was pretty old and ulu i must say, but the state of the art equipments, sets and interior made up for that bit. The wardrobe unit was cool – we saw Sergeant Dollah (Police and Thief’s “Police”) outfits and shoes at one corner, and we stumbled upon Adawiyah Hussein(?) (Suria News Anchor) there and Patricia Mok and Kym Ng at the Make Up and Hair unit. Kudos to the wardrobe stylists for the fab selection of clothes for the band – sponsored by Pull and Bear, Topman, Zara, Fourskin. woo.

Joanne and Christine (assistant producer) did a great job in handling the band well. They were pretty efficient in the tech rider and the band’s needs and stuff like that. Sebas and Mardy were awesome as well. Live N Loaded wouldn’t be where it is now without them, to be honest. We were pretty scared of Josephine (exec producer), because she looked pretty stern, but she’s actually a really nice lady. ;)

We did sort of like a legal self-exploration around the area (the radio building, staff canteen). Fifi and Sha just had to interrupt a 93.8fm news deejay when she was broadcasting live, and she chuckled helplessly when she was on air! Haha. Oh, we stumbled upon Cheryl Fox at the canteen buying a bottle of mineral water, and she was smokinnnnnnnnnnnnnnn hot. o.o

The show went absolutely well, way way better than we expected. All the bands for that episode were fantastic. Special mention to Juxtapose – addictive music, cool mascots, unique combination of everything nice. The psychedelic rock band, Aurigami was great as well. Syltra’s voice was pretty unique and current, really. Boon was really really friendly as well. But of course, Wicked Aura Batucada stole the show with their killer beats and groundbreaking vocals and showmanship by the frontman. Pretty enjoyed the whole of the episode to be honest, although we’re backstage most of the time. It can never be anymore perfect that the line-up. Heregoesnoth!ng gave it our all as well, and we were relieved to have received an AWESOMELY POSITIVE REVIEW from one of Power Of Pop critics, Samuel C!

The webcasts sessions with Soo were the most interesting parts of the night though. Soo was hilaaaaaaaaaaariooooooous! We did some American Idol auditions parody thing backstage live on the webcast, and Fifi, Sha, Soo, and Yunnie (production coordinator) had to judge an audition with Farhan being the contestant, and Iqmal and Sly had to be the guitarist and the backup dancer. To Shigga Shay fans, we didn’t mean to mock Shigga Shay at all. The band didn’t even stutter anything negative about him on the webcast. We were just singing one of his songs, and we even mentioned that we’re fans of Shigga Shay. We respect Shigga Shay and his affiliates as talented artistes, and we wish him all the best for his future endeavours.

I guess that’s all about Live N Loaded for now. Had a blast, and we’d like to thank the producers and whoever’s involved for giving us this opportunity to showcase our music on national television.

Hip Hop Hurray 5 @ Esplanade

Hip Hop Hurray 5 @ Esplanade was a 3 day event that took place from the 19th of September 2008 and lasted till 22nd of September 2008 featuring performers such as Freaky Z, Krazie Starr, Hyrul Anuar and 3/4 of HereGoesNothing feat. Fifi and Amir Asyraf. We had the opportunity to perform a 45 minute set as the opening performance for the whole event. It. Was. An. Awesome. Experience.

We arrived at the Esplanade Outdoor Theatre (Nokia Arena) and began our soundcheck at 3pm. It was the most tiring soundcheck the band has ever done. We were going on and on trying to find the right sound and making sure that we'll sound good. Thankfully we had the beautiful view, breeze and very nice sound engineers to help us.

Teenage Icon 2008 Semifinals

On the 27th of September 2008, the Teenage Icon 2008 Semi - Finals was held at The Heeren Shopping Centre. There were 24 contestants set to compete and only 12 would make it through to the finals. HereGoesNoth!ng were the third contestants to perform on that day.

We were down at Heeren by noon for the briefings, hairstyling, make up and sound checks. Oh, guess who took the longest to get the hair done? No, not Aisah. It was none other than Iqmal. He had his hair straightened, secured with clips and sprays. He was the only person who had 2 hairstylists managing him. Haha! Aisah had her curled and nicely styled for the performance. I (Sylvester) got an out - of - bed messy look which was..messy? Haha! A big thank you to the hairstylists and make up artists for making us look good for the competition. After hair and make up our band had some time for sound checks.

The event finally started at about 4pm and we performed Mercy by Duffy. Yeap, the song that goes You got me beggin' you for mercy! The performance went smoothly without any technical hiccups whatsoever and it was generally well received by the audience.

Results were scheduled to be released at 730pm. So as we waited, waited, waited and waited we took some pictures! Here's some of them!

As I mentioned earlier, the results we scheduled to be released at 730pm. However, the judges were having a hard time selecting the 12 who would make it through to the finals and the results were only released at 8+pm. It was a nerve wrecking moment for the band as the results were being read out. Due to the high standards of the competitors, the judges decided to select 14 contestants to be advanced to the finals. Fortunately, HereGoesNoth!ng is one of the 14!

Thanks to all our family and friends for supporting us! We really appreciate your presence at the performances and calls / text messages wishing us all the best. We hope to see you guys at the finals, 22nd November 2008 @ The Heeren! Watch out for more details! :)
